And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent (John 17:3).
John 1 states:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. [...]
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
I also did not believe in God and questioned whether he truly exists. And then I considered myself very intelligent for rejecting what society tells and for a religion that society tells you to believe in. But last year, during my time at college, my life became completely ruined and having no one to turn to I prayed to God, and I felt that his presence. Ever since then I slowly changed my life, considering what the Truth is of this world, and came to believe in Jesus Christ.
He is the one who stated "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6).
It is more than a coincidence that millions died for their faith and shed their blood as martyrs for Christ during the 1st century and all throughout history; preferring to suffer arduously than to state "Maybe God is not real".
